We are proud to say our dentist is one of the top Invisalign practitioners anywhere. He is one of an elite group of dental professionals, certified to use and teach the use of the Invisalign system.
Today, our Invisalign dentist in San Francisco provides Invisalign to adults on a consistent basis. More than 20 years ago, the Invisalign system debuted as an alternative to conventional wire braces. Many in the dental profession believe this started the growing trend of large numbers of adults seeking orthodontic treatment. Because Invisalign had several limitations that made the aligners unsuitable for teens, it initially began as a way to give adults beautiful smiles without years of unsightly wires.
As the treatment grew in popularity, teens became increasingly eager to be able to use Invisalign. They were especially interested in a nearly invisible orthodontic system which was removable. Removing the Invisalign alignment trays is required before eating and drinking which appealed greatly to teens. By eliminating two of the biggest difficulties’ that teens associate with traditional wired braces.
Invisalign’s maker, Align Technology, heard and answered the teens’ requests. The company added tabs on the aligner trays; this allowed teens extra space for growing jaws as well as erupting molars. As compliance was a concern for the teens’ parents, Align Technology made a discreet compliance indicator a part of Invisalign Teen. The creation of Invisalign Teen provided Align technology with the chance to introduce an entirely new generation to the Invisalign alignment system.
By tailoring part of the Invisalign Alignment system to adults and another part to teens, the company positioned itself to help two different groups have confidant and brilliant smiles.

In recent years, Invisalign has expanded their line of products to include Invisalign Teen and Invisalign Express. Now more of our patients can utilize this remarkable way to achieve straight teeth, a beautiful smile, and the self-confidence which comes with both.
While most of our patients get excellent results using the traditional Invisalign full treatment or the Invisalign Teen system, we see many patients that our dentist in San Francisco feels would benefit most from the Invisalign Express system.
We usually will suggest a patient use the Express treatment when they have minor imperfections or misalignments. Expecting these patients to spend a year and a half or more extended wearing alignment trays is not realistic. Especially when the patients with imperfections which are not significant, will see the same beautiful results with Invisalign Express as those patients who need the more prolonged course of treatments.
Invisalign Express is very similar to the full Invisalign treatment. Clear plastic alignment trays fit securely over your teeth and will gradually guide your teeth into their optimal position. As with Invisalign Full, you must have your alignment trays on your teeth for 20-22 hours every day. Our patients get regular progress checks to get new aligners, and the guidelines for Invisalign Express are the same as the instructions for regular Invisalign. Our patients must maintain excellent oral hygiene and carefully clean their alignment trays as well.
The most significant difference between the regular Invisalign system and Invisalign Express is that our average Express patient completes their treatment somewhere in between three to six months, as opposed to the average of 18 months that our patients spend wearing the traditional Invisalign full treatment system. Occasionally, our dental team must augment a patient’s Express treatment with a retainer or possibly increase the amount of time that you spend wearing your Invisalign Express alignment trays. Our Invisalign specialist decides these options on a case by case basis.
If you believe that you may be a good candidate for the Invisalign Express treatment, do not hesitate to call our office right away. Our staff is always happy to help meet your dental needs.
Many of our patients receive Invisalign treatments. This orthodontic alternative to wire braces is popular for many reasons especially for being discreet, removable, and faster than traditional metal braces.
Recently we there is a rise in inquiries about Invisalign Express. This type of Invisalign is gaining in popularity because it only takes about half the time regular Invisalign takes to give you a beautiful smile. Most Invisalign Express patients complete their treatment in six months or less. The Invisalign Express system works just like traditional Invisalign works. Patients using the Express system have the same success that our regular Invisalign Full patients enjoy. Because of the positive buzz, many of our patients want to know if the Express option could work for them.
While it is true that not everyone is a good candidate for Invisalign Express, our orthodontist sees many patients who are pleased with their Express treatments. For patients who experience only minor alignment problems, spending a year or more in braces is pointless. If you have minimal issues with crowding and spacing or if your dental misalignment is slight, you could be able to get the results that you want with Invisalign Express. Here are a few specific criteria that our orthodontist uses to see if Invisalign Express may be the right treatment for you:
• 1.5 mm or less of expansion required per arch
• 2 mm or less of crowding or spacing per arch
• 2 mm or less of midline correction needed
• Nominal rotation of the front teeth
Our patients find that Invisalign Express mirrors the full Invisalign system in several ways. The clear plastic alignment trays fit and work the same as regular Invisalign. Just as with Invisalign Full, you must wear your aligners 20-22 hours a day. Our office would like you to schedule regular progress checks and get new aligners on schedule, and we suggest that you ascribe to the same high level of oral hygiene as our patients with Invisalign Full. This means brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing once or more every day. Additionally, you must clean and care for your aligner trays as directed to get optimal results.

If you are looking to improve your smile, our Torrance cosmetic dentist can help. We are the experts in fixing crooked, misaligned, crowded and misplaced teeth. We understand that getting braces can be a daunting process. It’s important that you explore all your options before correcting your smile. We have a few treatments available that are very convenient for both adults and teens.
Schedule a consultation with our Invisalign dentist in Torrance to see if Invisalign can improve your smile. We will examine your mouth using an advanced scanner to create a 3D digital image of your teeth. Then we will map out your customized treatment plan including the movements of your teeth and how long your treatment will take. Invisalign slowly moves your teeth into place without the pain and anxiety of metal braces. As the teeth move and shift into place, the aligners will be switched out for new ones. This happens about every week or two depending on your case. The treatment length depends on your case as well. The average case can take an estimated 12 months for adults. For teens, our office will determine the length.
Invisalign can help fix gapped teeth, overbites, underbites, open bites, overly crowded teeth and crossbites. When you schedule a consultation with us, we can examine your mouth to see if you have a treatable case with Invisalign. It is a very popular option because it is made of clear plastic removable aligners. You can remove these aligners for eating, drinking, brushing and sleeping. It is one of the most convenient ways to straighten your teeth.
Maintenance of the Invisalign system is also very convenient. Make sure to clean your aligners with the cleaning kit provided to you or with warm water. When you go to brush and floss your teeth, simply remove the aligners and pop them back in when you are done. They should be worn 20 to 22 hours per day and only removed for the activities mentioned above. Teens can also benefit from this system. With clear plastic aligners, they are hardly noticeable. Teens can also enjoy the flexibility and comfort if they play sports. There are no metal brackets or wires that can cause irritation in the mouth, which is a great advantage over traditional braces.
If you are looking for a very convenient way to improve your smile, contact us today. We can explore every treatment option available to you.
Dental crowns are restorations that cover the visible part of the tooth. They are needed when a tooth has suffered serious damage or been badly decayed. Our Invisalign specialist in Los Angeles may recommend Invisalign if you have dental crowns and need orthodontic treatment. Because Invisalign straightens teeth without the need for bonded brackets, it can straighten your crowned teeth with minimal risk of damage to your teeth. In some cases, patients may need small bonded buttons attached to their teeth to fine tune their results, but this puts only slight pressure on their teeth.
You might be a candidate for Invisalign if you have:
- Healthy teeth and gums
- Slightly to moderately misaligned or improperly spaced teeth
- Properly and securely crowned teeth
During Invisalign, the roots of your teeth will move through the jawbone as they shift into their new positions. Each aligner tray moves your teeth a little closer to your final smile. The clear trays are almost invisible when you wear them, and they are easy to remove when you eat, drink, brush and floss. Call our dental office today to find out more about how Invisalign can transform your smile or to schedule your appointment.
Experts advise parents to take their children to see an orthodontist by the age of seven. At this age, they can adequately see how the teeth and jaws are developing, and possibly even whether orthodontics will be needed at some point. If so, most patients of our cosmetic dentist in Agoura Hills receive treatment during the early teenage years. Invisalign offers a special teen treatment just for these patients. Here is why.
The early teen years are the best for restructuring and straightening the teeth and jaw for two reasons. First, all of the adult teeth have fully grown in by this point. So any movements by the appliances will be permanent ones. Secondly, though the jaw is fully developed, as well, it is still malleable and can be guided easier. Invisalign Teen is specifically designed for these situations.
Another great example is the incoming wisdom teeth. The aligners used for teen patients are expandable, and can accommodate any growing teeth that may come in during treatment. This means that no new aligners will be needed, as the original ones will work just fine.
Invisalign Teen treatment also offers dots on the aligners to indicate use, and up to six replacement aligners. Talk to our Invisalign Teen dentist for more information today.
Invisalign offers three different types of treatment. One type is Invisalign Express, which is used for patients with only a few mild orthodontic issues that need to be addressed. Our LA orthodontist will recommend Invisalign Express if your smile requires two millimeters or less of midline correction and spacing or crowding per arch, as well as minimal dental expansion and tooth rotation.
Many are curious about exactly how long Invisalign Express takes. It is important to remember that no two smiles are the same, meaning that everyone will have different treatment experiences and costs. Your treatment may take a few less or a few more aligners than normal, depending on your orthodontic progression. It is also important to remember to wear the aligners for at least twenty-two hours a day. Any less than this, and treatment may be prolonged.
Typical treatment time spans about six months, utilizing ten to twenty aligners. You might decide to undergo this option before a wedding, graduation, or school reunion. You can find out if you are a candidate for Invisalign Express at a consultation appointment with our Invisalign Express dentist.
